Book The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse: An All-Natural, At-Home Flush to Purify and Rejuvenate Your Body Review :

I would like to add this review in the hope it clarifies the flush process for current and future liver flushers.I just completed my 17th liver flush after a year and a half of abdominal pain and a diagnosis of cholestasis and gallstones. I also had a variety of secondary symptoms, including brain fog, worsening vision, skin problems, and so forth. At this point my symptoms are greatly improved, although I still have a ways to go to regain my health.Andreas Moritz’ book is an excellent resource. The liver/gallbladder flush he describes is an updated version of an older procedure that has been around for at least a hundred years, if not longer. Andreas added a preparatory week involving a vegetarian diet and malic acid supplementation. Other than that, the flush is basically the same as the previous version. Andreas also describes the reasons for doing the flush, and how liver/gallbladder congestion creates health problems. Important reading for first time flushers.Things I have learned after 17 flushes:-The flush is absolutely real and it is high time this “soap stone” nonsense be abandoned. I won’t waste time explaining all the reasons why.-The malic acid and vegetarian diet described in Andreas Moritz’s book are unnecessary and prohibitive. Just eat reasonably the week prior and don’t worry about “softening the stones” which isn’t actually a thing. If you are worried about the composition of gallstones, I’d recommend taking TUDCA and/or stone breakers (both can be purchased on Amazon) but these are not necessary. What is necessary is a shift in overall health, including a whole foods diet, which should optimally include grass-fed organic protein, eggs, and sustainable seafood. Keep in mind that the gallbladder literally evolved to help digest animal foods, and that bile is composed of substances most readily found in meat, seafood, and eggs (taurine, glycine, choline, etc). Do your research. If you want to go vegetarian, be careful to supplement with bile precursors, especially taurine and choline, and eat plenty of plant-based fats to help contract the gallbladder. In saying these things I am not making an ethical statement about diet. I am simply telling you how the body works and what you should focus on if you want your liver and gallbladder to function optimally.-Do follow the basic day-of flushing protocol described in the Moritz book, at least initially. This is identical to the older protocol (see curezone) and good practice for beginners.-Epsom salts produce a strong osmotic removal of the body’s water into the digestive tract, resulting in dehydration and loss of electrolytes. For people who wish to avoid the negative effects of epsom salts, replace them with an equal amount of magnesium citrate (Natural Calm brand is good) taken with a capsule or two of turmeric powder. Like epsom salts, magnesium citrate dilates the biliary system, allowing for the safe passage of gallstones. Turmeric contracts the gallbladder (clinically proven to do so) the same way epsom salts contract the gallbladder. This is a safer method, not to mention far more palatable.-The basic combination of olive oil and citrus juice cannot be improved upon. Increasing the amount of oil to 6 ounces is not harmful, and may help to facilitate the process for certain individuals. Decreasing the amount of oil may result in an unsuccessful flush.-If you have decent motility (you poop easily once a day) enemas and colonics are not necessary. There is an unnecessary amount of fear around gallstones getting stuck in the intestinal tract. If you are worried, a simple water enema will help to clear the colon before and/or after the flush. Otherwise, normal bowel activity will move the stones out within a day or two. Note: do not do a coffee enema before the flush, as this will deplete your bile reserve, possibly ruining the flush. Afterwards is fine.-Expect some flushes to go more smoothly than others. Expect some to fail, even though you followed the instructions.-Although Andreas Moritz suggests maybe 12 flushes to clear the liver and gallbladder of gallstones, the real life experience of the flushing community has been far different. Most people flush between 15 and 30 times before experiencing significant health improvements, and some continue flushing up to 50 times or more, before feeling satisfied that they are “free” of stones. Furthermore, the gallbladder may only begin to expel stones after 15 or more flushes, due to its unique physiology (it’s an inverted sack with muscles that weaken due to cholestasis, and must be exercised to regain its contractility). These gallbladder stones are often harder and tend to be calcified, or in some cases, like white putty or old chewing gum. Their calcium content is what allows them to be seen on X-rays and ultrasounds. Stones from the liver are almost always cholesterol stones, in shades of yellow and green, and are like hardened wax (they cannot be seen using imaging technology). Regardless of the composition, all of these stones must be removed, sometimes requiring years of effort. This is not to dissuade anyone from trying, but please understand this is a long-term but PERMANENT life saving journey. Be prepared to flush the liver/gallbladder at least once a month for 2-3 years. Seasoned flushers may increase the frequency to twice a month, after becoming familiar with the process.-Please disregard anyone who claims the liver flush doesn’t work or is a hoax. This includes such esteemed authors as Anthony William. He’s right about many things, but wrong about the liver flush. If you want to fast track your health, I’d liver flush while following a sensible (not extreme or faddish) whole foods diet.Good luck, and happy flushing!Adendum:The attached photo shows two kinds of gallstones expelled in the same flush. The small green one is made of cholesterol, most common and found in the liver. The other three are compacted material with a consistency of putty, opaque, white, most likely from the gallbladder. Notice that the green stone is smooth and round, while the others are faceted, rough, and furrowed, as if compacted together. I believe we are way beyond any discussion of "soap stones" when we begin to see stones that cannot come from olive oil and citrus juice.
Read this book with an "open-mind" rather than an "empty-head". There were some things in this book I did not agree with, but I also found a lot of information in it to be very useful.I tried the cleanse two times so far, and I can say with absolute certainty that the cleanse DOES WORK! I understand that the results will vary from person to person... in my case, I was passing small calcified stones (multiple times) that sunk and did not float- most of them were not the typical green stones that are often documented by others. Instead, most of these were countless fine granules (light tan in color) that collectively resembled small heaps of sand. Up to that point, I had never heard of 'Biliary Sand' or 'Biliary Sludge'- I had to do further research into what exactly it was that I saw! From what I had experienced, the 'oil soap stone theory' is BUNK.As to how this cleanse works, I offer a possible explanation:As with any food or drink that any of us ingests, the oil and grapefruit juice are absorbed by the stomach at a molecular level. That is, the medicinal properties of these items are absorbed so that the liver can receive and make use of them. The 'bulk' of the grapefruit juice (the pulp and possible seeds) and the oil itself will pass through the stomach and into the small intestine as in normal digestion. This became apparent to me the next morning after the cleanse,as it was obvious that I had passed the oil and pulp. In my case, the stones didn't appear until some time after I had passed the oil and pulp.As far as a reader claiming that they found a seed in a gallstone, I offer another theory:In general, bile is a fluid that gets released into the small intestine through the Common Duct. Not only are stones getting released during the cleanse, but also bile in its fluid form. It may have been possible that the liquid bile released during the cleanse could have coated any seeds that may have been present in the small intestine from the grapefruit juice consumed by this individual. The 'Nay-Sayers' would not be able to provide me with any reasonable explanations as to how my digestive health has improved considerably (in this short amount of time) since I started these cleanses. Also, the heaviness and swelling I had (for years) has diminished, I no longer feel congestion behind the right side of my rib cage.Overall, this book is a guide that has the potential of changing someone's life- if the reader applies the protocols that are written in it. Only then will the reader come to realize the epic implications of this natural healing technique... Sadly (as I have discovered), some folks choose not to believe that it's possible to remove gallstones on their own with the help of this cleanse. Instead, it seems that they have been mentally and/or emotionally 'conditioned' into believing that only a surgeon can do such things...How unfortunate... for not having an open mind to explore the possibility that alternative medicine could offer other options (which really do exist).
